1Z0-899 Examination Score Report

Post by gerval »

Recently I reproved the exam 1Z0-899. I received the Examination Score Report. The feedback shows the score distributed in 9 sections:
* Design Web Applications Using Standard Architectures, Protocols, Technologies, and Components
* Develop Controllers to Manage Navigation
* Identify and Implement a Security Model
* Identify, Capture, and Resolve Errors
* Implement Views using JSP and JSTL
* Integrate the Model, the View, and the Controller
* Manage User and Application State Data
* Throughout the Interaction Lifecycle
* Perform Request and Response Processing with a Servlet
* Test, Package and Deploy Applications

How are they related to the certification targets?
http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_pro ... id:1Z0-899:
01 Introduction to Java Servlets
02 Introduction to JSP
03 Implementing an MVC Design
04 The servlet's environment
05 Container facilities for servlets and JSPs
06 More view facilities
07 Developing JSP pages
08 Developing JSP pages using custom tags
09 More Controller facilities
10 More options for the Model
11 Asynchronous web applications
12 Web application security

I want to reinforce the weak aspects with the Enthuware software, but the feedback seems a little confused to me.

Unfortunately, the topics in your score report don't exactly match the fine grained detailed topics given by Oracle on their exam page so it is difficult to tie them down to a particular exam topic. But here is what I think -

01 Introduction to Java Servlets
* Design Web Applications Using Standard Architectures, Protocols, Technologies, and Components

02 Introduction to JSP

03 Implementing an MVC Design
* Develop Controllers to Manage Navigation
* Integrate the Model, the View, and the Controller

04 The servlet's environment
* Manage User and Application State Data

05 Container facilities for servlets and JSPs
* Identify, Capture, and Resolve Errors
* Test, Package and Deploy Applications

06 More view facilities
07 Developing JSP pages
* Implement Views using JSP and JSTL

08 Developing JSP pages using custom tags
* Implement Views using JSP and JSTL

09 More Controller facilities
* Perform Request and Response Processing with a Servlet

10 More options for the Model
11 Asynchronous web applications

12 Web application security
* Identify and Implement a Security Model

Paul.

Thanks for your comments, Paul.

Your answer fits with my experience: in my test there were no questions of JPA, EL or of asynchronous applications.

These topics have been removed of the exam? What do you think about this?

No, they haven't been removed but there are very few questions on these topics. So some candidates get a question on these while some don't.

Hello Paul, thanks for your answers.

Finally, is there any way to know which objectives have the most weight in the test?

Unfortunately, no. There is no way to know that.
