  Licensing FAQ
 
   
1. I want to be able to use the software as long as I want, where ever I want without worrying to contact you for new license. After all, am I not paying for it?
We agree with you completely. That is why we did not have a machine specific licensing for so long. However, piracy is killing us. We cannot afford to sell our tools for such a low price with rampant piracy. Some people had uploaded our software on the web, while some people just passed it on to their friends.
In order to give you a better product at a very low price, we request you- our valued customer who has bought the software legally, to bear this nuisance of license key. We do not like it either because it creates overheads for us. But it seems there is no other solution for now. We apologize for this inconvenience.
2. What do I get for the price I pay for a license? or What am I paying for?
You will be able to run the software on one machine as long as you want. If you buy a machine or upgrade the machine, you will not be able to use the software. But it's not that bad as it sounds mostly because you will not need to use the software after you are done with you exam. In case you still need it, we have kept the price very low.
3. On how many systems can I install the software using one license?
The license that you receive from us will be tied to one machine. So, one license will work on only one machine. If you want to install it on one more machine, you need to contact us at support page.
4. Is there any extra charge for installing it on more than one machine?
If you want to install the tool on your home as well as office PC, we will give you an extra license for free. However, you need to let us know about it by opening a ticket within two days of purchasing the software. If you ask us for a key after two days, we will not give the license for free. In such a case, you'll need to purchase another license for full price. Also, we do not give more than one extra license. So, if you want to run the software on 3 machines, you'll need to buy at least 2 licenses.
5. What if I upgrade my machine?
The license may or may not work. Send us an email telling what did you upgrade and the new InstallationCode displayed by the software and we will give you a new license for free.
6. What if I buy a new machine?
The license will not work. You will need to purchase a new license.
7. How many times can I updgrade the software?
Any number of times for 6 months. Latest versions are downloadable from our website all the time. The same license will work. You will NOT need to ask for a new license for any upgrade.
8. What information is contained in the InstallationCode (the Code generated by the s/w)?
It contains some machine specific information. It is unique enough to prevent the s/w from running on another machine but it cannot identify a machine globally. In other words, we cannot pin point a machine, its location, or its owner's information using the code.
9. Do I need to be connected while running the s/w or for getting the license?
No, you can run the s/w without being connected to the internet. Yes, you need to be able to go to our web at least once to get the license. If you have a problem in connecting to the internet, we can send you the license by email also. Please send your order id, email id, and the InstallationCode with your request.
10. I do not have email or internet access at home. How do I get and install the license?
Follow these steps:
  1. Run Enthuware Test Studio at home PC. It will show you the Installation Code.
  2. Copy the installation code to a text file (say, code.txt) and save it to a floppy.
  3. Go to a terminal where you can access internet and go to http://www.enthuware.com/license
  4. Enter your information on the license page. Use the Installation code that you saved in the floppy.
  5. You'll get a license.lic file. Save it in the floppy.
  6. Put the license.lic file in the \license directory on your home PC.
 
 
  Usage FAQ
 
 
   
1. What is your suggested way of using the Test Studio?
  • If you have already gone through a book or are an experienced developer and are ready to take the exam, we recommend taking one standard test daily. After you take a test, read the exaplanation for all the questions (even for the ones you answer correctly). Refer material from any book for the topics in which you score low. Once you are comfortable with low scoring topics, take the next test.
  • If you are using Enthuware Test Studio while reading a book, we recommend creating topic wise custom tests. Take a custom test after you finish a chapter. If you score low, read the chapter again. Once you are done with your preparation, starting taking the Standard Tests.
  • If you are very new to the technology, take a "Very Easy" Practice Test. See what level you are at and start preparing from a book. After one iteration of the book, take an Easy or Tough test. Finally, when you feel comfortable with the technology, starting taking the Standrad Tests.
2. How tough are Standard Test as compared to the actual exam?
Our questions are a little tougher that the actual exam. However, various other factors associated with the actual exam such as - anxiety, disturbance, and nervousness, make it at the same level of toughness.
3. How well will I score in the actual test?
In general, we have observed that people tend to score more in the actual exam than what they score in the Standard Tests.
 
  
 
  Registration Procedure
 
 
   
1. I downloaded the product. How do I get the License?
  1. Purchase the product through our website. You can purchase using Credit Card, Check, or Money Order. You will immediately get a TRACKING ID. You can use this number to check the status of your order. Once your credit card is processed, you will get an ORDER ID.
  2. Run the product. It will pop up a dialog showing the Installation Code.
  3. Go to www.enthuware.com/license and submit your ORDER ID (received from RegSoft or from us), Installation Code (displayed by the software that you downloaded, Step 2 above), and the email id that you gave while purchasing the product. You'll immediatly get the License file named license.lic.
  4. Save this license file in the license directory and restart the s/w. The s/w will automatically pick up information contained in the license file and, if valid, it will run without any problems. Make sure that you save the license file as license.lic and not licence.lic.txt.
2. I have the license for my office machine. But now I need to install the software on my Home PC. How do I get the new License?
You'll not be able to get a new license from our website directly since you've already got one license from there until we add a license on your order. If you intend to use the s/w on two machines, you need to send us an email containing the ORDERID, Email ID, and the Installation Code, as soon as you purchase the software within 2 days of the purchase. If you do not notify use within two days of purchase, we will not give another license for free.
 
 
  Installation FAQ
 
 
   
1. What are the System Requirements for Enthuware Test Studio?
  • OS : Win 98, NT, 2000, XP, Must have IE 5.0 or later version.
  • Processor (Min Speed) : AMD/Intel Pentium (500MHz)
  • Min RAM : 128MB
  • HDD Space : 2 MB
2. I am unable to run Enthuware Test Studio on my machine. What could be the problem?
Make sure you are trying to run it on one of the above mentioned OSs and that you have Internet Explorer 5.0 or later. If everything seems to be ok, please open up a ticket here. Please give your OS details such as Service Pack numbers and the error that you are getting.
2. On what platforms does the software run?
It works on Win98, WinNT, Win2000, and WinXP. However, we strongly advise you to make sure that the trial version runs on your machine before buying. If the trial version runs on your m/c, the full version will run. Once you retrieve a licence from our server, we will not make any refunds.
3. I want to run the software on my Linux/Unix/Mac box.
We are sorry, the software does not run on these platforms.
4. Do I need to have JDK installed on my machine?
NO
5. How do I extract the jar file for the s/w that I downloaded if I don't have a JDK?
You can use WinZip.
 
  
 
  Upgradation and Refunds Policy
 
 
   
1. How long will I get free upgrades?
You can download free upgrades any number of times for 6 months after the initial purchase. You'll not need to get a new license. The same license will work.
2. The software does not run on my machine, I want a refund.
If you have not retrieved any license from our server, we'll refund your order. If you have retrieved a license, we'll not issue a refund. We strongly advise you to run the trial version and make sure that it runs to your satisfaction before buying.
3. I failed my exam, I want a refund.
We give full refund if you have taken the exam after at least 8 days and before 2 months of buying our software. This means, if you buy the s/w today, take the test tomorrow, and fail, we will not give any refund.
