I think this question doesn't have correct answer available.
Extended-scoped Persistence Context can be initiated and used by stateful session bean, but it can be also user by stateless session bean if it is propagated in transaction.

You are right. The problem statement has been changed to: "An EJB component causes a Container-managed extended-scoped Persistence Context to be initiated."
