  Basic Information
 
   
1. All I have got is a .ets file. What do I do with it? How do I open it?
A .ets file is a data file, similar to a .doc or a .pdf file. Just like you need Microsoft Word or Acrobat Reader to open a .doc or a .pdf file, you need Enthuware Test Studio (ETS) Viewer to open a .ets file.

Enthuware Test Studio is an integrated environment that allows you to prepare for certification exams. Using ETS, you can access ETS Question Banks, which include Mock Questions, Exam Tips, Reference URLs, and Study Material. While Enthuware provides ETS Question Banks for several Certification exams, any independent vendor may provide an ETS Question Bank tailored for any specific certification exam.

2. How do I get ETS Viewer?
ETS Viewer is a Java Application, which you can download for free from ETS Viewer Homepage. Please see Installation information below to see how to install and run it.
3. How do I create a .ets file?
Most users do not need to create a .ets file. However, if you want to create your own mock exams (and potentially sell them), you can do so using ETS Editor software. You can download ETS Editor from ETS Editor Homepage. Please see Installation information below to see how to install and run it.
 
  Installation FAQ
 
   
1. What are the System Requirements for Enthuware Test Studio?
  • Any PC that can run Java 1.5. If you do not have JDK/JRE 1.5 installed, you may download the ETS+JRE combo from ETS Viewer Homepage. Please verify whether you have JDK 1.5.
  • Processor Min Speed : 700MHz
  • Min RAM : 256MB
  • HDD Space : 5 MB (If JDK 1.5 is already installed, 50 MB otherwise.)
2. I am unable to run Enthuware Test Studio on my machine. What could be the problem?
  • Please verify whether you have JDK 1.5.
  • Open up the command prompt, CD to ETS installation directory (c:\>cd <ets install dir>), and run viewer.bat (or writer.bat) ( c:\ets>reader )

    It will show you the error message. Please copy that error message and send it to us by opening up a ticket here.
3. Do I need to have JDK installed on my machine?
Enthuware Test Studio Viewer and Editor are Java Applications and require JDK or JRE 1.5. However, if you do not have JDK, we have bundled ETS s/w and the required JRE. You can download that from ETS Viewer Homepage or ETS Editor Homepage.
 
  
 
 
  Licensing FAQ
 
   
1. I am trying to open a .ets file using ETS Viewer but it is asking for a license key. How do I get it?
There are two ways to get a license:
  1. Let the ETS Viewer download it automatically. Once you purchase an ETS Question Bank from us, you will get an Order ID (It looks like 06092006-68015-123 ). You should supply this order id and your emailid (the one which you gave while purchasing), to the "Automatic Licensing" tab and click 'Get License'. ETS Viewer will download the license key from our License Server and you will be all set.
  2. Go to License Page and download the licence key. Enter this key in the license dialog displayed by ETS Viewer.
2. Is the license key tied to a machine? What happens if my machine crashes and I want to use the ETS Question Bank on another machine?
No, the license is not tied to any machine. It is tied to a customer. You can use the same license key on any machine you want to.
3. On how many systems can I install the software using one license?
You can use the ETS Question Bank on any machine you want. However, only you are the licensed user and not anybody else. Having other people use your license key would not only be unfair to us but would also be illegal.
5. I do not have email or internet access at home. How do I get and install the license?
You can get the license on a machine where you have internet/email access and then copy it to a machine that doesn't have any connectivity.
 
 
  Usage FAQ
 
 
   
1. What is your suggested way of using the Test Studio?
  • If you have already gone through a book or are an experienced developer and are ready to take the exam, we recommend taking one standard test daily. After you take a test, read the exaplanation for all the questions (even for the ones you answer correctly). Refer material from any book for the topics in which you score low. Once you are comfortable with low scoring topics, take the next test.
  • If you are using Enthuware Test Studio while reading a book, we recommend creating topic wise custom tests. Take a custom test after you finish a chapter. If you score low, read the chapter again. Once you are done with your preparation, starting taking the Standard Tests.
  • If you are very new to the technology, take a "Very Easy" Practice Test. See what level you are at and start preparing from a book. After one iteration of the book, take an Easy or Tough test. Finally, when you feel comfortable with the technology, starting taking the Standrad Tests.
2. How tough are Standard Test as compared to the actual exam?
Our questions are a little tougher that the actual exam. However, various other factors associated with the actual exam such as - anxiety, disturbance, and nervousness, make it at the same level of toughness.
3. How well will I score in the actual test?
In general, we have observed that people tend to score more in the actual exam than what they score in the Standard Tests.
 
 
  Upgradation and Refunds Policy
 
   
1. How long will I get free upgrades?
You can download free upgrades any number of times for 6 months after the initial purchase. You'll not need to get a new license. The same license will work.
2. The software does not run on my machine, I want a refund.
If you have not retrieved any license from our server, we'll refund your order. If you have retrieved a license, we'll not issue a refund. We strongly advise you to run the trial version and make sure that it runs to your satisfaction before buying.
3. I failed my exam, I want a refund.
We believe that it takes at least a week to prepare for a certification exam even for an experienced person. So we give full refund if you have taken the exam after at least 8 days of buying our software. This means that if you buy the s/w today, take the test tomorrow, and fail, we will not give any refund.
